One clear answer

Is migrant smuggling the same as human trafficking?

No. They are different legal concepts.

Smuggling generally concerns paid help to cross a border irregularly. Trafficking concerns exploitation through force, deception or coercion and does not require a border crossing. A person can experience both.

How we work

Neutral does not mean vague.

01

Sources stay visible

Primary documents and official datasets come first. Each factual story names and links its source.

02

Labels stay clear

News, analysis and practical guidance are kept separate. Vida Digital does not publish party-political opinion.

03

Corrections stay public

Material errors are corrected with a dated note explaining what changed and why.
