The Office for National Statistics estimates net migration to the UK fell to 431,000 in the year to June 2026, down from a record 906,000 in mid-2023. The figures are estimates, not a census.

Canada's government has confirmed a target of 8.5 percent Francophone immigrants settling outside Quebec by 2028. Dedicated draws and pilot programmes are the main tools, but the target is not a guarantee of selection.
