Canada has extended the Francophone Minority Communities Student Pilot through August 2027, according to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. The announcement came with a new Canada and Manitoba project intended to support the attraction and retention of Francophone and bilingual candidates.
The government said the Manitoba project will receive about $1.3 million through its Francophone Immigration Support Program. It is aimed at community support, research and skills-recognition work, rather than granting a personal immigration status.
What applicants should keep separate
A programme announcement is not an approval. Study permits, work authorisation, provincial programmes and permanent residence each have their own criteria and processing steps.
Applicants should use the official programme page for current eligibility and avoid paying anyone who promises a guaranteed immigration outcome.
